    Hi Lauren,

I really enjoyed your piece on beauty (aside from what you said, it was a very creative and engaging way of presenting information)!

Never have I heard anyone refer to the media’s way of beauty as “something that can be bought”, like it could be for sale. I have met people that upon first impression, I did not think they were beautiful. Then when getting to know their passions, quirks, intelligence and kindness I thought of them as the most beautiful. Conversely I have met individuals who I did think as beautiful, but once getting to know their hatred, emptiness or selfishness, I have thought them to be very unattractive. Any real beauty can never be bought… it really and truly must come from within.

Great interview! I agree with the interviewee that media gives off a perspective that beauty can be bought. How we dress and what we put in our bodies is always a decision that the media tries to influence. I think beauty can still be found in the media when you are honest on what you like and don’t like. Instead of trying to copy fashion magazines, you can can ask yourself what beauty is for you.
